...For Families
The Fruit Valley Community Learning and Resource Center was developed as part of the new elementary school. This is staffed by dedicated professionals whose jobs are to develop relationships in the lives of needy families in Fruit Valley and find ways to help meet their needs. Our relationship with the Family Resource Center is a key part of our work in Fruit Valley.
Through the Family Resource Center the Fruit Valley Foundation supports:
- A food bank serving more than 40 families per month with staple items.
- Transportation solutions including bus passes for people to reach jobs or important appointments.
- A weekend nutrition program for children that sends home easy to prepare foods for kids who would otherwise not have something to eat on non-school days.
- Distribution of clothing and vitamins, as needed, for children for families.
- Providing contact information to advanced services for those in need.
The Staff of the Family Resource Center genuinely cares for Fruit Valley and its people and we are proud to support them in any way we can. These staff positions are funded by Educational Opportunities for Children and Families, a coalition of nonprofit and government agencies. The Family Resource Center needs not only financial help but food, clothing and household items as well. All donations are distributed directly to needy residents of the Fruit Valley Neighborhood.
