The Fruit Valley Foundation works to help people in their everyday lives. Yet, due to a number of circumstances including access to education, divorce, injury and others, many of our neighbors have never developed the skills to become truly self-sufficient. Our vision is long term: long-term change requires long-term investment. We will bring about real and sustainable change in our community by creating the structure where people can find help through learning to help themselves. Investment in the lives of children and families is our path to a bright future.

The Fruit Valley Foundation is looking for partners to help develop programs such as:

After School Programs and Events
Constructive activities for children after school hours will maintain positive influence in their lives. They provide safety and an opportunity for mentorship. By expanding on the current “lunch buddy” program and sticking with kids through High School we are more likely to get them started on the right foot. Then we can encourage older children to reinvest in the neighborhood and become mentors themselves.

Capacity Creation
A truly accessible computer lab, cooking and nutrition classes, sports teams and events all can have huge impact in the lives of the disadvantaged. They all will require buildings and space. The Foundation is looking at options to expand community space in Fruit Valley.

Educational Opportunities
Education will open doors. Long-term plans include helping kids build home libraries, building physical education capacity, and college or trade school scholarships. Providing access to these options is a huge step toward the elimination of generational poverty.
