STUDENTS TRANSITIONING into EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE

step group

No doubt you or your child have been raising concerns as the move to middle school nears. STEP Camp is here to help answer these and other questions for your child and connect them with more of their future classmates! Please consider this fantastic, free, camp to help your child get a head start on adjusting to life in their new school.

STEP helps students make a successful transition from elementary school to middle school. It is a fun, 5 day experience that creates opportunities to connect, shows ways to get involved, teaches tools to succeed, and builds confidence in self and surroundings.

STEP Day Camp leads to a successful transition from elementary school into middle school.

The STEP Camp experience will include: Field trips to their new school for orientation, significant time spent getting comfortable at Discovery Middle School, relationship and teambuilding exercises, question and answer times, fun activities, field trips, and of course lunch served each day.

SUCCESS IS:
• Connectedness—to safe relationships with adults and peers
• Involvement—Find places and discover resources
• Confidence—Familiarity with surroundings and atmosphere
• Self-Confidence
• Toolbox—Resources and skills needed to thrive in Middle School

REGISTRATION: Starting on June 1st, registration opens for all students planning to attend Discovery and spots are filled on a first come first serve basis. All registrations are due by July 15th so there is plenty of time to get a pre-camp packet out to you. Due to budget limitations we are able to accept the first 50 applicants and the remainder will be placed on a waiting list. Completed registrations can be delivered to your home school (up until the day school ends) or mailed or faxed to the contact info below.

We look forward to hearing from you if you have any questions. Please send email for more information. We hope you take advantage of this awesome opportunity!
